Insurance

I only work a few months a year and I think the fee is a little high for me, but I don't want to lose my IKO instructor membership, what can I do?

The basic instructor membership is only USD69.90 per year. This includes both the recreational third party liability insurance and all IKO services. Please note, this level of membership does not include cover for your students while you are teaching. You would need to ensure alternative cover is in place.

Is there any IKO third party liability insurance available for my kiteboarding school?

No, IKO insurance is not available for kiteboarding schools. However, if all your students apply individually for the recreational third party liability insurance, and the whole school team including Assistants, Instructors and Trainers applies individually for the professional third party liability insurance, then lessons and courses delivered at your kiteboarding school will be covered as soon as your school becomes an IKO Affiliated Center. If these conditions are met, the IKO no longer requires your school to have a separate insurance certificate.
