When is my professional third party liability insurance valid?
The professional third party liability insurance is valid when you are working at any valid IKO Affiliated Center. If the kite school you are working at is not affiliated with the IKO, the school manager can apply online for free affiliation so the kite school becomes an IKO Affiliated Kite Center.
What is the difference between third party liability and personal accident insurance cover?
Third party liability insurance protects you against claims from others. Personal accident insurance compensates you or an assigned beneficiary in the event of your disability, rescue or death, resulting from your personal kitesurfing practice or your professional kitesurfing activity.
There is no medical expense indemnity included in the personal accident insurance cover.
As an Assistant or Instructor, what does professional liability insurance cover?
The professional liability insurance covers you when you ride on your own and while you work based on your qualifications and as long as you respect the IKO Standards.
Can I learn to kite with the Kiter membership?
The Kiter membership is designed as a facilitator to help you through your learning of kiteboarding and enhance your lessons with an IKO Instructor. In no way can the Kiter membership or any of the online educational content replace the essential hands-on training and services you will receive at one of our IKO Centers to learn and experience kiteboarding with confidence.
I upgraded, where can I access the content?
Once your account has been upgraded to the Kiter Premium, you can access the content from your account on the IKO website or on the IKO app (Android or IOS).The Kiter Premium content has been designed to be better enjoyed on your mobile device (note that the Handbooks series are only accessible on the IKO app).
Will there be new content added to the Kiter Premium?
IKO is constantly making sure that all its educational content is aligned with the highest and latest quality standards. If needed, we will update the content accordingly and all the Kiter Premium members will be notified. When new content is published for the Kiter Premium, it generally first appears in English and shortly after follow the multi-languages translations in French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and German.
How can I cancel the recurring payment?
To cancel the automatic renewal at the end of your current billing period, login to your IKO website account, choose the “My Profile” tab and click on “Edit”. On that page, you can slide the green switch button so it turns to red to deactivate the recurring payment. Alternatively, you can deactivate the payment directly from your Paypal account.
What happens if I want to renew after 2 years of being expired?
If you leave your membership expired for more than 2 years, you will have to attend an Instructor Reinstatement Course (IRC) to be reactivated.
What happens if I renew after 12 months of being expired?
If you leave your membership expired for more than 12 months, you will have to pass an online exam corresponding to your certification level with a score higher than 80% to be able to renew.
What happens if my membership expires?
From the day that your membership expires, you are no longer recognized as an IKO Instructor which means that you lose your license to teach and all the benefits associated with being a member of IKO including insurance coverage..
