If I suffer an injury as a result of kiteboarding, which means I can't work or earn money for a period of time. Will I get compensated for loss of earnings?
No, there is no loss of earnings compensation available.
If I am a valid IKO Instructor but I work independently, or for a non IKO school. Does the professional third party liability insurance cover me?

I only work a few months a year and I think the fee is a little high for me, but I don't want to lose my IKO instructor membership, what can I do?
The basic instructor membership is only USD69.90 per year. This includes both the recreational third party liability insurance and all IKO services. Please note, this level of membership does not include cover for your students while you are teaching. You would need to ensure alternative cover is in place.
What would happen if a medical center does not accept the insurance?
You or the third party would pay upfront and keep the bills and any paperwork. The claim would then be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement.
If I am involved in an incident, who should I contact, the IKO or AXA?
You must contact the IKO Support Department, who will assist in the claim procedure.
Is there any IKO third party liability insurance available for my kiteboarding school?
No, IKO insurance is not available for kiteboarding schools. However, if all your students apply individually for the recreational third party liability insurance, and the whole school team including Assistants, Instructors and Trainers applies individually for the professional third party liability insurance, then lessons and courses delivered at your kiteboarding school will be covered as soon as your school becomes an IKO Affiliated Center. If these conditions are met, the IKO no longer requires your school to have a separate insurance certificate.
Is there an Instructor membership without insurance?
No, all membership plans include at least one type of insurance.
Could the IKO get even cheaper insurance?
Because the IKO is the world's largest kite sports organization, we have negotiated very competitive rates for 2020. After the first year of cover, insurance prices and benefits will be revised according to the number of people who sign up and the number of claims that are filed.
Does membership renewal automatically include insurance?
Yes, all membership renewals include insurance, however you must select your membership plan based on the type of insurance you want to be covered by.
