Once you pass the course, you’ll be a certified Coach Level 1. As a Coach Level 1, you’ll be able to teach one student at a time and certify kiters who take Evolution Courses in the discipline you have been certified for. You’ll also be able to lead IKO Adventures - downwinders, boat trips and kite trips.

Once you’ve booked your Coach Level 1 online course, you’ll have access to a PDF copy of the course manual and one appendix per Evolution Course category with all the details of the tricks to help you get ready. You’ll get your certificate after you pass the course.

What are the prerequisites?

You must be a certified IKO Instructor (Level 1 or above) with active IKO membership and demonstrate in the video the following Level 1 to 4 Safety procedures and the following tricks in at least one of the Evolution Courses - Freeride, Freestyle, Wave Riding, Hydrofoil and/or Wing Foil.

Self-launching

Self-landing

Level 5 – Freeride (to be a certified Freeride Coach)

When activating your account, you will be invited to leave feedback for your Instructor, the school and the lessons. If you missed that step, you can always leave feedback by going in your IKO account, click on the details icon of your certification and then on the "Leave your feedback" button.

What happens if I fail my Pro Course?

If you failed the Pro course (ATC or ITC), it means that you did not meet the requirements to pass the course and that you are not ready to follow an internship yet. This decision is final and up to the Assistant Trainer's or Examiner's judgement with confirmation of the Training Department for special cases. Note that none of the fees are refundable.

As soon as your instructor or trainer submits your certification online, an email will be sent to the email you provided during your course. In this email, you will find the link to either activate your account and/or leave the feedback for your course. If you did not receive the email, please make sure to check the spam folder of your inbox too.

If you did not receive the feedback request by email, you can always leave a feedback by logging into your account and opening your certification details. To do so, access the homepage of your account by logging in.

Can an IKO Instructor work in a non Affiliated Center?

Yes, as long as he adheres to the IKO Standards and is covered by a valid professional Insurance.
