Can an IKO Instructor work in a non Affiliated Center?
Yes, as long as he adheres to the IKO Standards and is covered by a valid professional Insurance.
Who should I contact to enroll in a Pro-training Course (ATC /ITC)?
Go to the Training Calendar and book your course online. You can also contact the ATC/ITC Organizer directly to sign up for a course. Contact details can be found on the Training Calendar. Candidates provide all required documents, like the CPR and Candidate waiver, to the Organizer, not the IKO.
Does the IKO Instructor diploma open career opportunities?
Yes. Because the IKO is internationally recognized, earning an IKO Instructor diploma makes it easier to find work around the world. As a member, you’ll also have access to job listings through the “Jobs” section of your personal account.

Will I receive a diploma at the end of the training course?
Candidates do not receive a diploma at the end of a training but a completion certificate. The diploma is available from the training section in the profile after the member receives the certification (i.e when internship hours and other requirements are completed).
How soon must I cancel the ITC if I don't have enough Candidates?
If an Organizer does not have enough Candidates to cover the expenses of the course, (s)he must inform the Candidates, the Examiner and the IKO at least 1 month before the start date of the course. The Organizer must reimburse the deposit of the training fee to the Candidates and the expenses of the Examiner.
How many candidates can participate in an ITC?
We recommend a minimum of 4 Candidates. A maximum of 8 Candidates are allowed per ITC. If more than 8 ITC Candidates are accepted in an ITC, The Examiner and the Center will be sanctioned with a deduction of 6 points according to the Chart of Sanctions (Ref. 063).
What MFA or CPR courses are accepted by (the) IKO?
First aid/CPR training teaches essential life saving skills that are considered vital for all IKO Instructors.
Any live teaching, including hands on training with a CPR mannequin and drowning rescue is accepeted. The training should be attested by a diploma.
IKO usually offers MFA training courses before each ITC.
IKO will not accept Online MFA / CPR.
Who provides the Instructor Manual?
The Examiner will print and bind the Instructor Manual for all the Candidates and the Organizer reimburses him the cost.
Must I take part in competitions before becoming an IKO Instructor?
This is not necessary. IKO Instructors must have mastered all IKO Kiteboarder Levels upto Level 4 kiteboarder so they are able to analyze problems of trainees then find and implement solutions.
I am certified by another organization. What can I do to become IKO Instructor?
