No, you must complete both Module 1 and Module 2 to be a certified IKO Assistant.
What if I fail the assessment at the end of Module 1 eLearning?
The assessment is there simply to improve your knowledge. You can take the assessment several times. If you don't pass the assessment online during Module 1, you can take it again during Module 2 In-Person Training at an IKO Cente.
The eLearning content in Module 1 is too complicated for me. What should I do?
How do I begin the course?
You begin the course by enrolling in Module 1 eLearning which you can complete from the comfort of your home.
What are the prerequisites?
There aren’t any prerequisites for Module 1 eLearning. Anyone can do the first module. But to attend Module 2 In-Person Training, you must be at least 16 years old and have a riding level equivalent to IKO Kiteboarder Level 4 - Advanced.
What are the modules?
The course has two modules. The first module is eLearning and completed at home. The second module is in-person training at an IKO Center.
How can I train my school team to become IKO qualified Instructors?
IKO Centers commit to operate exclusively with IKO Certified and valid Instructors and Assistants. The Plus membership allows you to organize pro courses straight at your school, which means that you get the opportunity to train your team if they are not already IKO Instructors. By hosting training courses, you can earn up to $3720 USD in 10 days.
What happens if my membership expires?
From the day that your membership expires, you are no longer recognized as an IKO Instructor which means that you lose your license to teach and all the benefits associated with being a member of IKO including insurance coverage..
There is a mistake on my vCard or certification
When activating your account, you will be asked to review the following information: name of your Instructor, hours of lessons received and riding level achieved. If there are any mistakes, you can report it by sending a message to ‘You want to report a complaint or get information about IKO Standards’’ and the Quality department will contact you.
What happens if I fail my Pro Course?
If you failed the Pro course (ATC or ITC), it means that you did not meet the requirements to pass the course and that you are not ready to follow an internship yet. This decision is final and up to the Assistant Trainer's or Examiner's judgement with confirmation of the Training Department for special cases. Note that none of the fees are refundable.
