Yes, you can book the live course at an IKO Center as soon as you’ve enrolled in the online course.
How long does it take to complete the Online Couse (Assistant / Instructor)?
Most people are able to finish it in 12 hours over several days.
How do I access the online course materials?
Once you have purchased the online course, the materials will be accessible in the eLearning section of your profile.

I am an expired IKO Instructor with an open quality case, can I do the Expired Instructor Reassessment?
No, you will have to attend an ITC, if the Quality Department approves your place.
What can I do to become a Level 2 Instructor?
IKO Instructors have to log the students they have taught along with teaching hours.
To do so, login to your account ; go to the tab "My Students" and click on “Certification”.
Then click on the ‘+Kiteboarder’ and fill in your student’s details.
You can see how many students and hours you have logged by going to the tab “My Students” and clicking on “Feedback”, it will be displayed in the table at the top.
How can I view my current certified students and teaching hours?
- Log in to your IKO account.
- On the left-hand menu, scroll to the bottom and click “My Profile”.
- In your profile page, look for the Experience section.
- Here, you will see:
- Teaching Hours
- Number of Students
- Training Hours
This section gives you a quick overview of your teaching activity and student certifications.
Why do I need a smartphone or camera?
What equipment do I need to be a Coach Level 2?
You need a smartphone (with a video stabilization app) or a waterproof video camera with 8x to 20x zoom (Go Pros aren’t permitted), a monopod or tripod, a helmet, an impact vest, a kite and a board. You’ll use this equipment during your coach course and to coach students.
