How do I begin the course?
You begin the course by enrolling in Module 1 eLearning which you can complete from the comfort of your home.
What are the prerequisites?
There aren’t any prerequisites for Module 1 eLearning. Anyone can do the first module. But to attend Module 2 In-Person Training, you must be at least 16 years old and have a riding level equivalent to IKO Kiteboarder Level 4 - Advanced.
What score do I need to pass an online exam?
To pass online exams, more than 70% of the questions must be answered correctly. Once you achieve this score, the IKO administration will be notified and we will change your status to “passed” immediately. You have three chances to pass every exam.
Where can I view the eCourses offered for Instructors?
You are able to view all online courses along with descriptions and training hours by going to the Ecourses Page. Please note that some courses are only open to Instructors of a certain level.
Who can view the list of eCourses I have completed?
Instructor profiles automatically display the list of eCourses completed under the "Additional Qualifications" heading in the Kite Member Community. This way, Instructors get public recognition for all training received.
Note: A course will only be displayed in your profile once you have successfully finished it and have passed the final exam with at least 70 % of correct answers (not upon course registration).
How do I earn IKO Training Hours and where do they display in my profile?
Training Hours can be earned through:
- eCourses (each course is worth up to 12 training hours upon completion)
- Training as an (Assistant) Instructor.
You can view your total training hours in your account in the section "My Trainings."If for some reason training hours don’t show in your account within a few days of completing a qualifying activity, please contact us by sending a message using the topic "You are a Member".
